Christmas Celebrations in Sabah. Shafie called On All Races to Enliven it.
Christmas celebration in Sabah. Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd. Shafie Apdal called on all races to enliven the Christmas celebrations with fellow Christians.
As a result, it was a step towards cultivating mutual respect among the various religious communities in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the Christmas celebration in Sabah or other celebrations could strengthen the ties that had been established over the years.
Moreover, it is making Sabah a model for the people of the Peninsula that Sabah is the land of harmony.
Subsequently, all races in Sabah should be participating in any celebration like Christmas. It was not only to strengthen their existing relationship but also in honor of each other.
In addition, joining in each celebration is a tribute to one another. It does not mean anything if we only know about the culture but we did not know how to respect them.
“Respect for others if you want others to respect you,” said Shafie. It also means about culture, race, and religion to be respected.
He said this when addressing the Donggongon Christmas Wonderland and New Year 2020 Program Ceremony, at the Datuk Peter Mojuntin Memorial.
