Menara Tun Mustapha, Head Office of Yayasan Sabah Group is a beautiful, exciting and stunning building in terms of concept as it has 30 floors built of aluminum and glass. The concept is the first and never been tried in the region. The building is a 72-cornered polygon structured with a wall made of 2,160 special reflective glass panels that can withstand wind speeds up to 272 kilometers per hour. This skyscraper looks like a big rocket ship ready to be launched. It not only reflects the desire to move forward, but also reminds the mountaintop of Mount Kinabalu that can be seen in glass of this glass building which marks the splendor of the state of Sabah. With a distance of 80 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu City, the shadow of Mount Kinabalu can be seen on a cloudless day. Located opposite the Likas Bay (Teluk Likas) with its bluish sea air and rocky beaches and contacted by the 11.2-kilometer coastal road to Kota Kinabalu City, this building is similar to that of Taj Mahal which changes color throughout the day depending on the situation and atmosphere of the cloud, sun and sky colors. The building was named Menara Tun Mustapha on July 31, 2001 in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary of the founding of the Sabah Foundation, in recognition of the contribution and struggle of the late Tun Datu Haji Mustapha Bin Datu Harun, a famous hero and patriot not only in the state even in the internationally for its inspiration to set up a Yayasan Sabah which until today acts as a catalyst in the state’s socio-economic education and development. The building is also a tourist destination especially from overseas.

2. The Beautiful Structure of Islam, Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu.

Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu is the most beautiful mosque in Sabah because this mosque looks like a float on the water.The mosque is large and spacious, that can accommodate many Muslims when it comes to praying at this mosque. This City Mosque is a symbol of greatness to local Kota Kinabalu Muslims. 3. The Great First and Largest of Puh Toh Tze Temple.

Puh Toh Tze is a Buddhist Temple located in Kota Kinabalu. This is a Mahayana Buddhist Temple that teaches rebirth in Pure Land, Western Paradise or Land of Ultimate Bliss through faith in the Amitabha Buddha and two other sages, the Bodhisattvas Avalokitesvara or Kuan Yin, and the Bodhisattva Mahasthamapratpta (Da Shi Zhi). Puh Toh Tze Temple was built in 1980. It is the first and biggest Mahayana Buddhist temple in Sabah. One of the main sights in the temple is the big statude of the Goddess of Mercy at the main entrance to the temple. There is many tourist especially from China will visiting to Puh Toh Tze Temple. At the main entrance, you can see a giant statue of Kuan Yin. The location to this place is just a little bit for from Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu Off Jalan Tuaran. 5. The Oldest Structure of The Atkinson Clock Tower or Atkinson Memorial Clock Tower.

This oldest structure in Kota Kinabalu tells a thousand stories. Welcome to the Atkinson Clock Tower. The Atkinson Tower and also known as Atkinson Memorial Park Clock Tower was initiated in 1902 and was completed in 1905. It was built as a memorial to the first District Officer of Kota Kinabalu, then Jesselton, Mr.Francis George Atkinson who had diedin 1902 because of Malaria at the age 28. The Clock was started on 19th April 1905 while still under construction. Nowadays, the building is still standing because it was already declared as a “Cultural Heritage”. As you can see at the staircase, there is beautiful design of the staircase to attract more tourists to stopover. Other than that, this building was fully protected because the police station is just under the Atkinson Clock Tower.

6. Creativity of the Local Talent at Street Art Graffiti Building.

Did you know this grafitti art corner building of Kota Kinabalu? Once before, this building was ruin of a 100 years that own by British Colonial Building. It is constructed between 1918 to 1920. Althought this building survived from the world war II bombing, this building is ruin by the blazing fire in 1992, otherwise it might be the great heritage in Kota Kinabalu. However, this local talent had been creatively create an artistic drawing on this building and the results is fabulous. The street Art Grafitti building unexpectedly shown that local talent of grafitti art at Kota Kinabalu is very talented. Every drawing on this building tell us many different stories that creating different type of emotions. There are many tourist taking their pictures to get the beautiful drawing on this building. This building is located next to HSBC Bank and facing the road to the Suria Sabah Shopping Mall.

The attraction during the sunset at this location will amaze you to love KK. Here you go, “I LOVE KK” which location is next to the sea side. Take as much photos you want at “I LOVE KK”. This place became the attraction for tourists because of the unique of the “I LOVE KK” logo build on the edge of the ocean with an amazing decoration surrounding the place that makes this place attracts more visitors to Kota Kinabalu City. This place is very well maintained and we will not see a bit of garbage everywhere because the maintenance for garbage in this place is very tight.
